Fast forward a handful of decades and not only did Gillian become a singer, but she also became a multi-instrumentalist , songwriter, educator, producer, linguist, world traveler, sailor, juggler, musical sawyer, artist, puppeteer, community builder, stand up comedian, MC, long distance backpacker, dancer, advocate for the vision imparied and underrepresented people in the arts, nature lover, yogi, forever student of life, goddess of the earth mother and peace warrior.
In her 20s, Gillian traveled the world on foot and by sea and eventually graduated with a degree in Classical Voice and Jazz from UCSB. In her 30's she packed up her bass and some clothes and moved to New York City to study with the greats and participate in and win Amatuer Night at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY.
